Overview
Ratiomera Statistics provides university-level statistics education for the humanities and social sciences. It is designed for students and professionals in fields such as psychology, education, sociology, political science, public health, and related disciplines.
The curriculum is informed by our members’ academic, research, teaching, tutoring, and professional experience. It also draws on extensive exchanges with humanities and social-science students at universities and universities of applied sciences across Switzerland, as well as conversations with lecturers, professors, researchers, and practitioners.
Ratiomera Statistics develops the common denominator we have encountered across these different learning settings: the recurring core ideas students are expected to understand, the questions that repeatedly cause difficulty, and the explanations and applications that help those ideas connect. It brings that shared foundation into one coherent educational sequence. Each institution’s official curriculum and assessment guidance remains fully in place.
For every topic covered, Ratiomera Statistics should aim to provide conceptual theory, intuitive explanations, concise summaries, worked examples, exercises, and complete solutions that explain the reasoning.
Where to Begin
Introduction to Statistics is the starting point for the current Ratiomera Statistics curriculum. It covers the core sequence of statistical ideas commonly used in social-science research, beginning with descriptive statistics and progressing through probability, statistical inference, correlation, regression, and analysis of variance.
The topics are designed to be followed in order because later material builds on concepts introduced earlier.
